Mine came from a seed packet with a bunch of different kinds of heirloom squash. It's been fun to see what they all turned out like and to grow something new.

We ate some hubbards when they were small and the texture was like Avocado. Made it into salsa. And I've already picked some of the really big ones and used them for fall decorations. The vines are still going strong here.L.L.Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15942771779406180758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5356235511941477035.post-42217156335704618352015-09-14T11:13:55.435-04:002015-09-14T11:13:55.435-04:00I cannot believe how big that Blue Hubbard Squash ...I cannot believe how big that Blue Hubbard Squash is! These squash store wonderfully - at least 6 months. This is the squash we have every year for Thanksgiving. And we open ours by smashing them in the driveway :-) It was always fun to drop them off our deck growing up to get them open!Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12261179479821073705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5356235511941477035.post-78173661124994824692015-09-14T06:33:46.969-04:002015-09-14T06:33:46.969-04:00I have had to use a hatchet to open these.
