Animals

Want to meet our animal gang?  We have a lot of furry, feathered, gilly friends living at Two Bears Farm.

Harriet, is our 21 year old black and white paint Shetland pony.  She's the perfect leadline pony for the boys to learn to ride on.

Phoenix is my baby, and is a 21 year old quarterhorse/arabian cross.  I rescued him, severely abused, when he was only 3 years old and I was attending college in Texas.  I tenderly rehabilitated him, and he learned to trust again.  We are his permanent home.

Scooter is our 5 year old border collie.  We adopted him from a shelter, after his previous family gave him up for being too destructive.  He loves living the farm life, and is just slightly neurotic, but we love him anyway.

Baxter, a 4 1/2 year old affectionate black and white cat we adopted from Barn Cat Buddies.

Willie, another cat we adopted from Barn Cat Buddies, who is very playful and loves to catch mice.

This is The Grompet.  Take a good look.  Because you won't see her.  Not even if you come live with us for a month (but please don't do that - I have a firm belief that company shouldn't visit for longer than 5 days - no offense!).  Note the look of disdain.  The Grompet hates you.  Don't feel bad.  She hates us too.  She's a 14 year old purebred Himilayan.  And proud of it.

We have three hermit crabs.  Goldie, Pokey, and Zen.

This is our guinea, Tut, tick-eater extraordinaire.

If you made it this far you must really love animals!  Last but not least, we have Josh, the Mountain Junkie Fish.

Hey, Lisa. You need at least one more horse so that a friend can go riding with you. ;-)

I just found your blog today over at J4Daniels where you guest blogged. I made it to the end of the list, and YES I do love animals! You're living my dream and looks like you're having a great time of it. What a blessing. And a great blog too.

You're so funny! I found your blog somehow through RDC. Yes, I made it to the end because I love animals. But living in a small house we can only accommodate a few. I'll just live vicariously through you, I've always wanted chickens and horses, maybe a cow too. :)

Um, well, yes, this is all good. But where are the Bears?

You say Grompet hates everyone, yet for some reason whenever Taylor and I are over she emerges and perches on our laps...I guess we have a special bond? :)

Loving all the animals :) We live near the Blue Ridge mountains of NC, no horses but we have a cat and chickens. We will be getting a new beta soon since our Archimedes died last year.

Nice blog!

Ok, you got me with the animals. We also live on a farm in rural VA. We have two horses, Mike & Ruby, 32 chickens + (more hatching in the incubator as I post), a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Lab dog named Biscuit and a bearded dragon. We're always looking for the next pet...a guinea pig, bunnies, fish???
