Animals

Want to meet our animal gang?  We have a lot of furry friends living at Two Bears Farm.

Francie, a rescued 3 year old mare that I brought home starved and sick on Thanksgiving of 2013, and have since been habituating her to people and training her to be ridden!

Baxter, a 7 year old affectionate black and white cat we adopted from Barn Cat Buddies.

Willie, another cat we adopted from Barn Cat Buddies, who is very playful and loves to catch mice, bats, and moles.

This is Owen Meany, our farm dog/ Australian cattle dog/ blue heeler.  He likes to "help" in the garden.

PR/Giveaways

This blog is PR friendly!  I'm currently looking for products to give away and review for my readers.  Items that genuinely interest me are gardening or farming items, running products, gear for kids, earth and environmentally friendly products, self-sufficient living products or backpacking and hiking gear.

I would like to have a product one to two weeks prior to posting a review, because I want to be able to adequately try it out.  All product reviews and giveaways will post to http://www.twobearsfarm.com, and one or two other social media platforms such as Instagram, Google+, Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest.

I am happy to provide my opinion, and the views and opinions that are expressed are purely my own.

I also love to write sponsored posts.  One of my specialty areas is creating new and fun recipes using your food products.  However, I am open to a variety of topics and ideas.  I love local/regional attractions and events, and would enjoy blogging about them.  Email me and we can discuss how I can help promote your brand through an original sponsored post.

Questions?  You can email me directly at varunner7@aol.com.  I would love to hear from you!

A few of the brands I have worked with include:  Bertolli, Quaker, Carter's Children's Clothing, Plum Organics, Claritin, Polarn O. Pyret, Udi's Gluten Free, Farm Rich, Zone Perfect, VeggieTales, Eshakti, Cottonelle, Shabby Apple, EcoStore USA, Milk Nursingwear, Tropical Traditions, Ocean Isle Inn, Uncommon Goods, Easy Canvas Prints, Nordic Naturals, TLC Book Tours, COOL WHIP whipped topping, Electrolux, NuNaturals, Eclos Skin Care, Frontier Outfitters, Whitney Farms, Jungle Roo Cloth Diapers, EZwipers, Sony, Endless Games, Old Navy, Lysol, CLIF bar, Camelbak, Cascade, and International Delight.

About Me

My name is Lisa and I'm a mid-30s mom to three boys living the rural life in a pine log home deep in the Blue Ridge mountains.  We're an adventurous family who loves hiking, backpacking, and foraging our land for wild edible foods.  My passions are running and horses.  I have successfully run eight marathons (Baltimore, Philadelphia, Marine Corps, Hatfield-McCoy, Air Force, Outer Banks, San Francisco and NYC) and one ultramarathon.  My marathon PR, if you're interested in that sort of thing, is 3:58:52.  I teach college level psychology off and on part time (I have a specific interest in neuropsychology) and also enjoy reading and cooking.  We have more animals than my husband would like, and there is never a dull moment.

Central to my life are my husband and three boys.  We don't have much pink in our house!
Paul and I have been married for over 14 years.  We met the very first week of college and have been together ever since.
