Adieu, Dora

I'm going to have a t-shirt printed up that says, "I survived two weeks with the Dora phone". First of all, it's LOUD. It doesn't seem to have any adjustment for the volume. But more importantly, it will.not.shut.off on its own. So it blares out "Push a button" over and over. Until you turn it off. But do you think my toddler turns it off on his own? It's enough to send any respectable mother to the mental ward. And so. The Dora phone has gone into the Bermuda Triangle of Lost Toys. Where all the other toys that oh-so-mysteriously disappear reside. Sorry, Pierce.

In other news, I've been trying to collect ornaments from every family member this year. So that when we put up the Christmas tree each year, the boys will think of various family and hear stories of them as we take out the ornaments. So my mom brought me a bag of these awesome ornaments my Granny Anne made. And I wanted to do something with them other than just hang them on the tree. I had some nice ribbon that I got last year on Christmas clearance after the holidays for just 10 cents. I thought it would compliment the snowflakes nicely.

Things involving needle and thread are definitely not my strength. We have a long history of amazing knitters and such in my family and those genes missed me by a mile. But I think I managed to make an adequate garland (no doubt someone more capable could have done a more interesting job!)

The snowflakes are pretty, aren't they? :-) Okay, off to handle a crying Cort!

Love what you did with Granny Anne's ornaments.
I could totally teach you to knit, but when would you have time?
