Last Spring I picked up a few jalapeno plants at a flea market. I gave two to a neighbor, and kept two for myself. Peppers tend to come in fairly late in my garden. But I've had enough jalapenos to make salsa several times. And a few weeks ago I picked a bunch to make candied jalapenos.
I didn't get a huge yield (next year I'll plant more) but I did get a couple of jars of candied jalapenos. They are delicious! Perfect on cheese and crackers.
Readers, do you like spicy foods?
No spicy food for me at all. Table pepper is too hot as far as I am concerned.
Do you cut up the peppers first?Do they taste similar to the jelly? Larry loves spicy foods and planted some jalepenos this year. He got some nice ones. I''m going to share this with him. Me? Too spicy. LOL
Sounds real good. I made corn bread the other day and had used all my pepper jelly.I like to grill them with meat, they are my favorite hot pepper
There is nothing that you can't cook! I used to love spicy foods when I was your age. But now, like most geezers, cannot stomach it. Enjoy! I read that spicy foods are good for the digestion. Hope you have a great weekend!
I do like spicy foods and make salsa, but haven't made candied jalapenos. They sound great to me!
I love spicey food but as I've gotten older it does not love me. What exactly are candied jalapenos?
I do love spicy foods. My stomach doesn't always like it, but I love the taste of it.
I can't imagine what that tastes like. Glad you like it!
We do like spicy around here. I have serious issues cutting up jalepeno's though....they take my breath away so I give that job to someone else. The jelly sounds delish!
okay, ordered the book mentioned in the last post and returned because - candied jalapenos - is something i never - ever - imagined . . . YOU can do anything.
I love jalapenooos..I can eat them all :)
My husband loves hot pepper. I remember baking jalapenos in the oven with a cheese mixture and how strong the smell was!
