Danville Science Center

One of the big selling points for running the half marathon in Danville was that their science center is right by the finish line of the race.  And as an added bonus, we got free entry because of our membership to our local science museum.  It was wonderful for Paul to have a way to entertain the boys while I was running, and after I finished the race we went back for some more, because I wanted to see it myself.
It was such a fantastic facility - everything was hands on interactive and the museum itself was so spacious and sparkling clean.

The boys really loved this floating beach ball, and they were determined to try to figure out how to get it down.

A cute little pillow nest at the top of the stairs.

I liked this giant ball, which played movies in a cool dark room.  Exhausted and still dehydrated from my race, I zoned out watching this ball and hoping that Paul was mostly supervising the boys.

It was quite the show.

Turns out Paul was giving the boys some flying lessons.

We're in trouble now...

And speaking of trouble...how did he get that beach ball down?!?

Paul said that I need to start running the Danville half marathon every year, just so the boys can enjoy the museum.  I figure I'm game - it was a great race and a fun day!

So nice your DH accompanies you with the boys when you run!
I love an interactive museum too. My g'daughter's birthday is being held at the local science museum Saturday. I know it will be fun.

I'm impressed you had the energy to go after your run. Very sweet pictures! My kids love places like that--I'm surprised it wasn't more crowded.

Such cute AND interesting pictures! Did he REALLY get the beach ball down? I'm in love with the floating movie, I would have been right there with you!

I just read your comment on my blog. I am such a Natalie Wood fan that I even read her sister Lana's book many years ago. I saw many of her movies, and watched some more than once. You are very young to be a fan! The drowning saddened and fascinated me. I have been having a running e-mail conversation with Sandra about the new investigation, we both think she was killed, either on purpose or not. Let me know if you hear any news!

That looked like fun! Glad you had a great race- best feeling. Our munchkins enjoy the hands on museum, "MOSI" here in Tampa. And what a bonus for the family to have something fun to do while you run :)

It looks like your boys loved this as much as Amy loved the Seattle Science Center when she was younger:) She left the beach ball alone, though. ;) (Just kidding!)

Hope you are doing great:)

We used to always take our kids to the children's museums and I know that we adults enjoyed them far more than the kids!! Here we go my child...let me HELP you play with that!!! And then we end up standing there mesmerized as the kid is tugging at our shirt ready to go to the next display, but my child...we're not finished playing with THIS ONE yet!! :-)

PS. Your comment about my being busy...the gift guide about killed me, believe me. Never again! It's over, so even though I have other giveaways to do still, the worst is done. Woohoo!
