Free Country Swimsuit Review

Disclaimer:  I received a swimsuit from Free Country for review purposes.  The opinions below are my own.

Memorial Day is over, which means swimsuit season is here.  I was happy to get the opportunity to review a tankini from Free Country.  They carry a wide variety of active wear to fit your individual style.

I chose a tankini because I don't feel all that swimsuit ready right now, and tankinis have a way of being more forgiving.  I found a black and white one that I loved for it's sportiness.  The shorts, in particular, were really cute on - they had an athletic look to them that appealed to me.

The tankini was very comfortable and it didn't creep up at all in between standing and sitting.

It also didn't slide up in the water.  I've had tankinis in the past that were really bad about floating right up as soon as you hit the water.  This stayed put, thanks to the strings on the side that allow you to raise/lower the sides and tie it in place snugly.  Even when I swam a couple of laps, the swimsuit stayed in place.

As it turned out, we had a really fun time in the pool, and I liked not having to worry about the fit of the swimsuit so that I could just enjoy my time with the boys.

In addition to swimwear, Free Country also carries an assortment of winter coats and outdoor clothing for men, women, boys and girls.  Readers, do you like tankinis, or do you prefer another style of swimsuit?

That suit is so so cute! Looks great on you. I have never had a tankini that didn't ride up in the water. I will have to see if anything they have is old lady appropriate. How did you take that underwater picture?

That is cute on you. I did not even know these existed! Looks comfy and what fun to share time in the pool with your boys.

I don't know why you don't feel swimsuit ready?!? If I were you I would be sporting the bikini. :)

However, I love the look of this suit. I have always liked the idea of a tankini, but none of the ones I've ever had performed well. They always rode/floated up and only looked ok standing up. LOL So I had sworn them off. I need to check them out as I need something new for the season.

Thanks for sharing!

Lisa, You are too hard on yourself. You definitely look swimsuit ready and the tankini is adorable on you! I have yet to find a swimsuit that I would wear anymore, at my age & my size. I generally wear shorts and a t-shirt when we go to the beach.

Lisa, I just bought a one piece from Old Navy - I am definitely not ready to show my stomach. You look fantastic and that swim suit is so cute :)

I think you look great! I've never tried a tankini. It has been so long since I've been in a swimsuit, I don't think I could bear to look at myself in one. :-)

Never heard of a Tankini before today. Luckily I have a suit that fits and looks reasonable (one piece).

I like tankinis too, and this one looks great on you. But seriously I have to say this... if you really think you're not swimsuit ready (are ya kidding?).... you need to see a shrink. You have a great figure, unlike those of us who really aren't bathingsuit ready.

I love that, Lisa. You look really good, and the boys look so happy! :)

Yup! Tankinis are so comfortable and definitely the way to go, especially for women in my age bracket. :-) But Lisa, you could wear any type of suit you wanted to, you are so young and fit.

I do like tankinis and may just be purchasing one after seeing this post. You look great in yours, Lisa. Good choice for a sporty look for an active mom. <3

This is really nice and I imagine it could be used for other purposes as well. Maybe going for a jog in hot weather. I love your underwater photo!!!! As a teenager, I bought a black one piece that had black see- through mesh in the middle where the stomach is. It was very modest by today's standards. I totally scandalized my grandmother and she relegated me to the backyard only with it! I was ahead of my time!

What a cute suit! I've never tried a tankini before but I think it might work well for me. If I'm swimsuit ready sometimes I will wear a bikini, but usually I feel more comfortable in a one piece.

Now that's what I need- something to cover my belly! LOL This one looks very cute on you.

O, you look awesome in that suit. It really is very nice, with a flattering cut. I'd definitely choose this style if I were swimming indoors -- however we don't have that here. With 32 degree sun every day, I use a rash guard top!

Lisa-you are so ridiculously cute!! I had a tankini once where the top rode up. It felt more like a floatation device! Now I wear a one piece with a pair of board shorts over top-but I'm tempted to try the tankini you are wearing. It's a fun look!

Adorable suit! And it looks great on you. I will have to go check out their clothes. I usually go for a one-piece, tank style, but maybe it's time for a change.
