I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
Last week I blogged about how I was selected as an Ambassador for Cascade Platinum, and this past week I received the product in the mail to try. One thing Cascade Platinum does that other dishwashing products do not is prevent the build-up of hard-water film on dishwasher walls, thanks to a specially designed chelant and polymer system. It also is strong enough to wash away food that has been stuck on for over 24 hours.
I filled up my dishwasher with icky dishes (not difficult, since I cook all of our meals), some of which were covered in barbecue sauce that had been sitting for over 24 hours. I didn't pre-rinse anything. I even included a bowl Pierce and I had used in a craft, that was covered in dried glue.
When I opened up my dishwasher, the dishes looked spotless, and the dishwasher interior was very clean. I pulled out the little bowl that had been used in a craft, and all the dried glue was gone. My glasses were sparkling with no streaks, thanks to Cascade Platinum's triple-action formula. I was so pleased!

Stay tuned next week - I'll be testing one of Gail Simmons' recipes on my blog! Gail Simmons, Top Chef judge and editor of Food + Wine magazine, is working with Cascade to discuss why food presentation is just as important as preparation.
Readers, do you have any special tricks you like to use in food presentation?
Awesome! Glad you liked the product, Lisa.
I have a dishwasher that I hardly ever use because I don't want to scratch my dishes. I might have to give this a try.
Wow that does work. B
Do you know how much it costs? The soap I use right now is the power ball kind I forget the brand but it is $6 a box. I refuse to buy cheap dishwasher soap because every time I do I end up washing the dishes AFTER they come out of the dishwasher lol and that's zero fun. The inside of my dishwasher is pretty icky though so I'm thinking this may help!
I'm jealous you have a dishwasher!
This is good to know, we have used some very sub standard dish washing detergent in the last few months. My favorite glass looked so bad that I just started washing it by hand.
Glad it turned out well ! Have a wonderful day Lisa !
It seemed like it did its job! Sparkling clean. Sometimes out door on our soap dispenser doesn't pop open. I blame the dishwasher. It's somewhat new, so it annoys me so much.
I'll have to give it a try too - love the colors too. sandie
Wow, that did do a great job on the dishes! I always prerinse too much (according to my husband) because I'm so afraid of food being left behind. I'll have to look for some of this product.
How cool is that! Testing one of Gail's recipes! I can't wait!
I think food presentation is important, but I have to admit that quite often we just serve up our plates right from the pots and pans on the stove... I feel lazy, but it saves on dirty dishes too;)
I'm going to have to try this detergent!
Wow, looks like it worked great! I'll have to give those packets a try next time.
For food presentation, I love to sprinkle on some fresh herbs (like parsley) just before serving to give the dish a little freshness and pop of color :)
This is totally amazing to ME!! Makes me want to go out and buy a dishwasher now...because I have never heard of results like this, you usually have to pre-wash, then there are still spots.
Sounds like a good product, Lisa, and you put it to a good test for sure....
That's pretty good that the dried glue was gone!
Sounds like it works, but I wash by hand these days, since it's just the two of us.
So glad you like it! That's a plus when you're in a hurry and cant rinse the dishes first. :)
The theory is that, since this building went up in 1968, the piping isn't strong enough to handle the back pressure from dishwashers. Whatever, I do the dishes by hand a couple of times a day, since there are only two of us (plus the grandchildren, occasionally).
Blessings and Bear hugs!

Wow, I do like clean drinking glasses with out film and spots.
wow- thats a nice test! everything is sparkly!
that sounds great!
glad you liked the product.
happy weekend, dear lisa!
Awesome product, I would say!
My fanciest presentation is...well...nope. Can't come up with anything. I'm plain & simple. Dip it out of the pot, put it onto the plate and eat :)
