Mindball

They have this game at the science museum that measures your brain waves.  You compete against another individual by being the most calm and relaxed.  My boys adore this game.  Below, you can see Cort and Reid in a Mindball battle while Pierce observes.
So last time we were there, the boys talked me into competing.  I was sitting there, eyes closed, trying to still my mind.  I was doing pretty well against Cort.  And then.  Some random old man came up and hugged me.  Boy was he surprised when I jumped!  Turns out, he thought I was a statue.  Needless to say, after that I lost my round - I just wasn't relaxed anymore.

Readers, ever been hugged by a stranger when you were least expecting it?

It happens pretty often to me Lisa; usually when I'm tremouring and the Great Scot isn't in sight. It freaks me out, frankly.

Not lately, but get the inclination occasionally. LOL

No, I wasn't hugged by a stranger
but many years ago I was pinched on my butt (yes my butt). The dirty old man took off running out the back door. I reported to the manager; they did their to catch him. If it hadn't so quickly, I "might" have slapped. :)

Have a great weekend.

That is so cool! However, this was more proof that random old men can't be trusted!

The stranger hugging would have flipped me out too!
I had a massage last week while on vacation; for the life of me, I could not relax my brain...it's so hard to stop the brain activity!!!

That would freak me out! You must have been totally still and calm for him to think you were a statue. Sounds like a cool game. I need one of those machines at home to help me stay calm. :-)

I can't remember being hugged by a stranger, but I've had strangers start conversations with me thinking I'm someone else.

Good grief!!! Well, he SAYS he thought you were a statue, but you are so pretty...What a fun game! I would love this. And I think it is so good for kids, to help them learn how to settle down.

I don't think I have ever been hugged by a stranger! And I don't know if I would like it!!

That game looks great and the boys look like they are working hard.

I've never heard of Mindball. Sounds like an interesting game. Not sure I'd win though because my mind is always racing with thoughts.
The boy on the left looks really relaxed.

Can't say that I have. He really thought you were a statue? I wonder why he goes around hugging statues? 😉

Hi Lisa,
This is a cool post showing how your children were doing this game.
It's also interesting to know that you have participated, yet -sitting still like a statue- gave you the goose bumps when a stranger gave you a big hug...
I might have jumped off my chair, I guess. I am so nervous. I might have probably failed this sort of brain test...
Thanks for sharing your world with us!
Blessings,
Starry.

Now that's a cool game.

I would have been so startled, too, LOL!

My grandmother used to tell me that when I was little, I loved giving hugs, and would go up to other little kids my size and squeeze them so hard, we'd both topple over (which would end in the other kid in tears). So I guess I used to hug strangers.

I was hugged by a woman in the checkout line at the grocery store. I didn't know her and then, in a very loud voice, she asked me why I didn't like her hug. I could have melted right into the floor.

That game looks very interesting. I don't remember ever being hugged by a random stranger...My brain waves would have gone a little batty.

My son love the science museum too.

Nope...never been hugged by strangers. Probably my side here it more conservative. An innocent simple hug may turn into front page news. Just like the receive K-Pop group that came here recently.

Partly I find it creepy. Partly I think it's nice. People need more hugs. I just wish it was more common, so the freak factor wasn't there.

It's too bad you lost your round.

OMG! Thank you for the good laugh this morning. How scary to be hugged by a random stranger; although the most bizarre thing is that he thought you were a statue?! (I don't know about you, but I don't randomly hug statues...) That game sounds great. I bet that's one of the few times you can get the three of your very awake, lively boys to be completely still, calm, and quiet...
