There's Nothing To Do at My House

I love yard games.  I've got a nice collection now from yard sales and thrift stores.  Sometimes I set them all up in the riding arena for the weekend.  It makes for a nice break from other projects.
Ladderball.  One of my favorites.  Paul and I first learned about ladderball on a camping trip up North in Michigan, where everyone in the campground seemed to have brought their ladderball but us.

Croquet.  I still don't know if we're completely playing this right.  But we have fun trying.

And bocce ball.  A new yard sale find this year.  We played this with Paul's parents when we visited them in Nebraska a couple of years ago.

As you can see, my house is so boring and there's nothing to do on the weekends.

Readers, do you like yard games?  Do you have a favorite?

Ya'll have such a great space for kids and games you could turn it into a summer camp. My fav lawn game is golf, but the city frowns on me hitting wedge shots onto Brandon Ave.

What No lawn darts?

No yard games here, apart from the 'games' that the animals play amongst themselves, but I did enjoy looking at the photos of your place.

What no lawn darts? We have had so much rain that I don't know if we could play much in our yard.

You Are Stellar!!! I used to live in a neighborhood called "The Hill." It's primarily Italian - or, at least, it's an area Italians settled as St Louis City expanded . . . in "The Hill" neighborhood there is an official Bocce Club - in a super fancy building - and a few pubs with outdoor bocce courts - as the weather gets nice and all summer long, you can hear crowds cheering - sometimes you can hear balls clink off one another . . The first time i ever saw the game played was in San Francisco - in the wharf area there was a nice space near the bay, under trees, where people would come to visit - and play. Golly, i admire your style.

Oh, no! Your title got me. The grandkids were here, Izzy sidled up to me, 'What can I do, gramma?"

Grampa rented a movie, as it POURED rain!

I have the feeling there's never a dull moment at your house! :-) We played croquet a lot when I was a child and lived in the farm. Badminton was fun. The local country stores would usually have a place outside to play horse shoes. The big thing around here now seems to cornhole? You throw bags filled with corn through a contraption with a hole. I never heard of it until fairly recently.

I do enjoy yard games but haven't played any in years! I always enjoyed badminton.

It is great bringing kids outside to play games. I have not heard of ladderball, but it looks so interesting. I am off to research it, then price it. We have badminton, snakes, caps and smoke bombs, and the little flyers that you pull a string or trigger, and a disc flies way up high. Also the water tub pumps so they can "wash" the car. i think that with games, sometimes we need to make up our own rules so it isn't so complex. We just bought Pie Face, where you can get a facefull of whipped cream! Haven't played it yet, but when we do I will be posting it. Love the boys big smiles, and the hat!

We played croquet and badminton here at our farm. Don't think we played croquet correctly either, but we also had fun!

Have you gotten into Estes Rockets yet?? That was a ton of fun...and you have a lot of space in which to shoot them off.

Yard games are so much fun! Lisa, have you heard of corn hole? Everyone but me seems to love playing that also; I'm thinking the kids would like it. Always fun at your house! :)

I do like yard games. I used to love jarts when I was growing up (lawn darts you had to try to get into a circle). Now they are not sold because of the danger they can post to people. I played ladderball on a camping trip recently and thought it was a lot of fun. I haven't played croquette in years. Looks like you guys are having a blast! :)

It looks COMPLETELY boring! My goal for this summer is to play outdoor yahtzee with giant dice and a bucket. I will succeed!!!

We need to go outside more often...sometimes the weather here is not that friendly. How I envy you :)
