A Fundraising Giveaway - Knitting Gear!

From now until May 8th, I'm holding a giveaway to help benefit Whatchagonnado.org.  This is an organization founded by Charley and Jessica Whitt to honor their daughter, Tuesday (who lost her battle to stage 4 neuroblastoma in January 2009).  This organization is being set up to benefit families that are dealing directly with pediatric cancer.  Last year this very blog party raised over $3000!  Donations will help fund families' medical costs, food and travel, and even funeral arrangements if needed.  Of course, it'll also help provide funds for pediatric cancer research.  Head over to check them out and see what other fabulous auctions are going on:

All you have to do to enter to win this auction is leave me a comment letting me know you're interested in winning this knitting gear, and then you must donate $1 to the Tuesday Fiona Whitt Foundation, which benefits Whatchagonnado.org.  If you're a fellow blogger (you don't have to be a blogger to enter - but leave me contact info if you are not) and new to me, leave me a link in your comment to your favorite blog post you've done, because I'd love to check it out!

Thanks so much for supporting a good cause.  I am not a knitter myself, but I know it's really popular right now, so here's what you could get if you win:

A Knit This kit with everything you need to start knitting your own yoga bag.  It includes a Learn to Knit DVD, a pattern and instructions, 255 yards of premium quality yarn, straight knitting needles, a tapestry needle, and a reusable storage case.  In addition, I'm also throwing in two thingeys (is it a skein?  a bolt?  I'm so clueless!) of very colorful Noro yarn.  I think the color is called 'the world of nature'.  Good luck, and thanks for your support!!

This is for a great cause...I donated! I hope they find a cure, no child should have to go through that.

Noro colors don't have names. They only have numbers. It's a Japanese yarn, so even if they had names, we wouldn't be able to read them. :-)
This is a great giveaway!

Great cause! I've actually heard of this family before, they don't live too far away from me. They lost Tuesday just hours after my T was born. :(

I donated! :)

I posted a link to this contest on ravelry, a knitting website. Hope you get some more entries. I would enter, but I don't do yoga and I donated the Noro, so it doesn't seem right.

I just sent one more dollar to the cause... To be honest, I had never even heard of this condition and I am actually learning quite a lot now from just googling around a bit. Thanks for educating me!

I would also lovvvve to try some of that Noro (and wouldn't you know it, I just signed up for a Yoga class yesterday! Talk about a perfect opportunity! (By the way I heard about it thanks to your mother posting on Ravelry)

Thanks for educating me and everyone else out there, and give those twins a hug for me! My mother is an identical twin, I have sisters who are identical twins.... guess what is probably in store for me!
