Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween readers!  We celebrated last weekend by going to a Trunk or Treat party at the twins' preschool.  This is our third year going, and it's very well organized with games and fun.  The twins wanted to wear their dragon costumes, and worked on their cornhole skills:

They tie donuts to a tree in the lawn, and kids have to try to eat the donuts off the tree hands free.

My boys?  They are donut eating champs - hands or no hands!

I think Reid may have the whole entire donut in his mouth.

The kids got tickets for participating in games, and then could redeem them for a prize.

There was also bouncy house slide.

Reid had his mouth full of popcorn in almost every picture I took.  It cracks me up. Note the big bag of popcorn in his arms.  In one picture (which I took with my cell and posted on Instagram) he looks popcorn drunk, with his head tilted back, eyes closed, and mouth stuffed full of popcorn.

In a trunk or treat, kids walk through a parking lot full of cars that are decorated for Halloween, and get treats.  One person always goes all out, filling up a truck bed with hay and burying treats in it.  Here, Cort digs through the  hay for a bag of Cheetos.

Last year, Reid was so horrified of this massive spider on the tailgate that he wouldn't trick or treat from this car.  This year he was able to overcome his spider fears.

The boys went home with bags full of loot, having had a great time trunk or treating.
We appreciate this safe and fun opportunity to celebrate Halloween each year!

Fun time and no scary creatures other than the spider. You may have to let the boys plant a patch of popcorn next spring.

Trunk or Treat is big here since we live in a very rural part of the town. LOVE. LOVE. their costumes. I too get popcorn drunk on occasion!

Those are great costumes. I don't think I would have been getting around that spider, myself!

I love their cute costumes! We have trunk or treat every year at our church and it's a big deal, but this year they mixed it up a bit and are doing something different (in town instead of at the church) so we're doing something new. :)

Happy Halloween to you!

So cute! It looks like they had a great time. Trunk or Treat is big around there--lots of churches are doing them, and I noticed that the town fire company is too. In Altavista, the merchants hold trick or treating from 2-5. The town fills up with kids in costumes seeking candy. :-)

This is THE way to go for Halloween! We have lots of the Trunk Or Treats around here, but yours is the biggest and most fancy one I have ever seen!!! It really looks like a carnival or something. And their costumes are beautiful, they look rich and velvety.

It looks like a very fun event. I like their costumes!

My boy's school has a fall festival each year. It was two weeks ago. They do go trick or treating, but not to a lot of houses. Just a circle really.

Sweet times! This is my first year not having a trick or treater in the house! Though, I did have a student dressed as Velma, to go along with your Scooby, who won the costume competition today. She was spot on!

That's the perfect way to do Halloween! They were just starting to do this at my local high school when I moved. The kids sure had fun, didn't they?

The Halloween costumes are so great. Here in Hong Kong, children can only have a few choices on Halloween costumes. We do not have dinosaur and big dog costumes, just have the policemen, firemen, etc.
