Disclaimer: I received one costume to facilitate a review. The opinions below are my own.
My kids love getting into costume. Just last month, the twins went to the grocery store dressed up as ninja turtles. Pierce tried to tell them it was illegal (he must have been embarrassed by those pesky younger brothers). I informed him that it wasn't illegal at all, and delighted in the outing.
Pierce may be more mature than the twins, but he isn't too old for costumes in the appropriate realm. Recently Costume SuperCenter emailed to see if I wanted to do another review for them. I had a few extra minutes, and began to browse their site. We have ordered costumes from them before and they have such a wide selection. I immediately fell in love with their Colonial Costume of Paul Revere.
The sizing for this costume starts at 8-10. Pierce is still in a size 7, so the costume was just a little large on him. Another year and it'll fit just perfect.
One thing I love about this elegant period costume is that if we ever head to Philadelphia or Colonial Williamsburg again, Pierce could have fun wearing this to some of the attractions. It packs up quite small (but does need a quick ironing after unpacking). Don't be surprised to see this costume again in a future Odyssey of the Mind production or a school play. I have a feeling it is going to get a lot of use in the future.
Readers, what was your favorite costume as a kid?
heel mooi het komt altijd wel te pas.
Then there is Halloween, though he might prefer being a robot for that.
He looks great in the costume and am sure he, and maybe even his brothers, might get some use out of it in the coming days. I dont remember a special costume from my childhood, which was nearly 70 years ago! lol Happy Friday.
So cute! As a child? Hmmm, wonder if I can remember back that far?
I'd say it was my 'Good Ship Lollipop' costume, lol.
Look at Pierce - oh my goodness, how cute! Love that. :)
I LOVE this idea. Wouldn't it be a terrific learning tool? (Well, i know you enough to count on the fact you'll do just that) - as a teacher and a story lady I can certainly see right away that This "Brilliant Opportunities" all over it.
oooh, thank you!
Wonderful costume and fantastic photo of Pierce. Have a nice weekend.
Hi Lisa, First of all, thank you so much for visiting my Blogs, and writing your lovely comments there! I truly appreciate your kind ways and Online friendship. Well, this post makes me smile. I love costumes and hats! I used to wear costumes as a child, most likely in special events at School,
and in children's parties...
I never had a special taste for a special costume. I know I loved old times costumes, I still do, like in Victorian Times back in the 1800's. The ladies' dresses were majestic at that time, so huge, yet uncomfortable to move or ride horses. I love Renaissance dresses too...
Lisa, thank for sharing your world with us! I love your superb BLOG! I hope and pray you get to buy the BEACH HOUSE of YOUR DREAMS one day in the future, if you are a lucky one. Many Blessings on your way, and your dear family. Big Hugs & Blessings from Poet Starry.
That costume is awesome and he looks great in it!
I think my favorite costume was one I made for myself...Wonder Woman....:)JP
aww bless.. so very cute xxx
He looks good!
I do reviews for Amazon (on their site, not my blog) and recently the IRS started requiring that they keep track of the free stuff they send me. I'll have to pay taxes on it. :-(
Very cute- he makes a handsome Paul Revere!
That's not a bad costume at all. When I was a kid we made our own costumes for halloween, but they weren't as nice as that colonial one.
he's so cute!
I may have to get this costume. Mica wants to be Thomas Jefferson. That could pass as a Thomas Jefferson costume I think. We'll see. He mentioned Captain America to.
Very nice costume. I'm surprised it even came with the knickers.
I laughed out loud at this post! Pierce looks so proud--an accomplishment. I hope you guys DO make it to Philadelphia and be sure to bring this costume! My sister used a scarf with lipstick on me as a kid to dress me as a woman for Halloween. While convincing, I didn't fool anyone! :)
So cool! That's the best costume ever! It looks like Pierce really enjoyed dressing up!
Awww, Your little one looks lovely in that costume :)
